Bruce Stotesbury is an award winning photographer and photojournalist originally from Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. He is now established and now living in the Gold Coast region of Queensland, Australia.
Bruce Stotesbury’s formal photography background and training is in commercial photography in addition to his career in the field of photojournalism, spans over three decades and sets him apart in a highly competitive market.
Bruce’s passion for the art of photography is evidenced in his professional portfolio. His experience as a photojournalist has seen him covering an expansive range of subjects and working with a diverse variety of people in many distinct locations and backgrounds. For each assignment he covers, from the Olympics to Little League Sports, from Weddings to Funerals, and from Royalty to the Homeless, Bruce creatively captures the emotion and personality of his subjects. His artistic and professional ability enables him to tell interesting visual stories from ingenious perspectives.
Bruce has been at the forefront of the photography field for the breadth of his career. His ability to put people at ease and capture candid moments, as well as his deadline driven work ethic, have afforded him great success as a photographer. In his role as photography supervisor at the Victoria Times Colonist, Bruce led a staff of nine through the newspaper’s seamless transition from analog film to digital. He has remained up-to-date and a resident expert in the continually evolving field of digital photography and photography software.
